96 POINT VINTAGE - Wine Enthusiast Magazine

We all know that Oregon Pinots are great, among the best in the world. However, there are vintages that make the already good Pinot Noir something even more. Something legendary. One of those vintages for the Willamette Valley was 2012. Wine Enthusiast’s most recent rating of Oregon vintages put 2012 at a whopping 96. That’s the highest rating in decades. And the scary part? The 2012s are still getting better.

When it comes to Oregon Pinot, there are few that can outdo Bishop Creek Cellars, especially when it comes to their coveted Barrel Selection. This wine features some of the best grapes from the Yamhill County AVA, which produces some of Oregon’s most robust and treasured Pinots. Renowned even among the outstanding Pinots of Oregon, these Yamhill wines stand up to any great Pinot around the world.

This 2012 Bishop Creek Barrel Selection is something to be treasured. Deep, dark and beautiful, this Pinot entices with notes of blackberry and black cherry. Spicy notes of pipe tobacco and espresso balance out the ripe fruit, making it something to remember. This wine is drinking beautifully right now but, believe it or not, still hasn’t hit its peak. This amazing vintage will be something to watch and savor for years to come.
