Ignoto is a word that describes an undiscovered treasure, a diamond in the rough or something spectacular hiding in plain sight. It's a perfect fit for a Chilean Pinot Noir because, over the past few years, Chile has been crafting some exceptional New World-style Pinot Noir. As is usual in the wine business, there is value in finding a new trend in wine and that means Chilean Pinot Noir can offer some exceptional value for delicious wines.

Normally associated with warmer weather, Chile's Casablanca Valley has a strong influence of the Pacific Ocean that gives a climate more similar to Pinot hotspots in Oregon and California. It is from the heart of this oceanic climate that the grapes for Ignoto are grown.

New World Pinot is known for being fresh and vibrant and slightly more fruit forward than it's Old World counterparts. The fresh crushed red fruit aromas on the Ignoto are a perfect representation of that facet. Balanced flavors of ripe cherry, spice, and pomegranate lead on this palate. Clean and vivid flavors make this a smashing success that will pair well with slightly spicy dishes, perhaps a seared salmon.
