Empyrean’s goal has always been twofold. One is to produce an “old world” style wine with new world fruit. The second is to produce wines that are made to age well, and improve with age. Neither is to be assumed in the current world of wine but we think the effort is worth it. Empyrean set out to be different from the start, a wine from wine lovers for wine lovers.
Empyrean Cygnus Syrah 2007
The Cygnus features more black fruits than red, with blackberry, and candied black cherry notes up front and mid-palate, with cedar and spices present on the finish. The initial grippy tannins are now more restrained and integrated, and this wine has benefited from its cellaring and is drinking well now.
Empyrean Eridanus Claret 2007
The Eridanus itself is a Bordeaux style blend, comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. While it has the elegance and grace of Bordeaux, it also packs the powerful punch of New World winemaking, making it a beautiful hybrid. The result is truly stunning.
Empyrean Lyra Pinot Noir 2017
Oregon is one of the world's premier Pinot destinations, making some of the finest wines with the notoriously fickle grape. Empyrean, a brand we've offered for years with an exceptional reputation, will be releasing their first ever Pinot from the prized vineyards of Yamhill-Carlton and Splash has the exclusive.
Empyrean Draco Claret 2007
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, this has all the hallmarks of a Bordeaux blend. However, it comes from the esteemed Yakima Valley of Washington. With oak aging of 18 months and now nearly a decade in bottle, this Draco has long been slumbering, waiting to be enjoyed. Now, it bursts forth, full of robust flavors, rearing its robust head.
