Opera Maestra Pinot Grigio is crafted with 100% Pinot Grigio grapes from the Veneto region in the northeastern corner of Italy, stretching from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea. The soil of the region is filled with calcium rich gravel, perfect for growing Pinot Grigio grapes.
Upon harvest, these grapes are soft pressed with full skin contact and fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts for around 8 days. The wine is aged another 4 months in steel tanks on fine lees (sur lie). The resulting White wine is a translucent pale yellow with hints of gold streaks. The nose is dry, velvety, and pleasantly fruity with slight notes of bitter almonds, some honeysuckle and a distinct minerality. The mouthfeel is refreshingly dry with brilliant acidity and a bitter almond note on the finish. Overall, this wine is very well-balanced and harmonious. This wine is so versatile with its pairings. We recommend everything from Prosciutto to sushi to chicken alfredo, which all pair well with this wines bright acidity.
