Blended by importer and renowned wine writer, Bjoern Lanwer, this Cotes du Rhone is intensely ruby red in color with an expressive nose that opens-up to notes of licorice, violet and crushed red fruits upon decanting, followed by spicy notes of pepper and juniper.
The notes of raspberry and strawberry are balanced by subtle woody notes. The mouthfeel is dominated by the smooth characteristics of the Grenache that express with flavors of ripe fruit, figs and plums. The Syrah presents with classically silky tannins. Aged for six months in oak casks.
This wine should be served at approximately 60 degrees and would pair well with rosemary lamb chops or red meat with a hearty sauce.
