Ambicion Merlot grapes grow in the alluvial soils of the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina at an elevation of 1200 feet above sea level. A wide range in temperatures between day and night, and irrigation from the mineralized runoff from the Andes Mountains makes for excellent Merlot growing conditions. This wine is violet in color with deep blue hues and aromas of dark fruit, including blackberries, Morello cherries and currants. This wine has good structure with well-balanced, round tannins and a long finish. Because of the elegant, soft tannins, this wine pairs well with game meats (like rabbit or duck) and semi-hard cheeses.
