Cambridge & Sunset Grass Cutter Red

At the corner of Cambridge & Sunset, two wine industry mates wielding lawn mowers decided to take the city’s neglect into their own hands. This started a movement that helped to spur on neighborhood pride and volunteer involvement that would beautify their home today. Known today as “RNR” (revitalizing neighborhood recreations), this movement is simple to start: enjoy a bottle of this wine with friends and plan ways that you too can help inspire your neighborhood to shine
Grapes for this wine were drawn from across some of the best growing areas for red grapes – including California’s Central Coast, the Sierra Foothills, and Lodi-Sacramento River Delta. Grapes from these areas experience warm days and cool nights and ripen to full maturity with balanced flavors and crispness.
Grass Cutter Red has a juniper nose with notes of pepper and bright red fruit. It’s nice, the robust palate is mouth-filling with flavors of dried fig and caramelized vanilla. It opens up and softens as it breathes with a zippy, cherries jubilee finish. Made from 70% Merlot, 20% Syrah and 10% “other” red grapes, it's soft in texture, with candied berry, cola and spice flavors, and a short finish. We recommend pairing with Italian dishes, well-seasoned meat and veggies and dishes presenting with a lot of umami.
