Making good wine seems to be in the blood of so many Italians. It is really hard to find a bad bottle of wine in Italy. Much of the wine in the country is blended, made to the winemaker’s tastes. These complex wines tend to express exactly what a good winemaker wants to make and can change from year to year. So, when you have a good winemaker behind a blend, you make good wine. 

The winemaker of Caponero certainly knew what they were doing. Intense ruby in color with notes of ripe red fruit, licorice spice and floral aromas on the nose, this wine is quickly enticing. The palate is robust and full-bodied with black fruit taking the lead, balanced by a touch of wood smoke, a sultry undertone. A great pair for pasta with red sauces, roasted meats, and game dishes.
