The southern reaches of the Russian River Valley produce the cooler climate Sauvignon Blanc demands allowing the distinctive flavors of the grape to mature and develop. These 20-year old vines stretch along the front 5 acres of the Hook & Ladder Estate Winery on Olivet Road.
Our Sauvignon Blanc juice is fermented in a combination of neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The 2019 vintage shines with a pale lemon chiffon color and aromas of citrus and muskmelon. The palate offers full flavors of lime zest, passion fruit heightened by its lingering lychee, trace green apple finish.
Quote: “Stainless steel and neutral French oak both played a part in fermentation and aging of this wine, which shows notes of toasted oak and caramel. Thick, viscous, and richly layered, it finishes in fresh apricot and peach. 88 Points" -Virginia Boone of Wine Enthusiast
