Lar De Oro Tempranillo/Syrah

Sometimes, on our search for amazing wines, it can get a little exhausting. It feels like we are looking for the needle in a haystack. Sure, there are plenty of good wines out there but we really look for something that can deliver a punch of flavor at a price that means our members are getting exceptional value. It actually can be pretty difficult to find great value to pass on to you, our customers. That’s why, when we find a wine that hits it out of the park, it feels like we’ve found pure gold.

That made it pretty fitting when we first tasted the Lar de Oro Tempranillo-Syrah and knew it was exactly what we look for: explosive flavor and an amazing price, a wine that drinks well above its price point. It’s fitting because, of course, “oro” means gold in Spanish and we consider this a solid gold value!

This blend comes from the Extremadura region of Spain and comes from older vines, which lends a nice maturity and complexity to this blend. The blend is primarily Tempranillo (about 70-80%) which is vibrant and Spain’s signature. The Syrah (20-30%) tempers it and adds some lovely elegance and spice. The result is a wine that is uniquely tasty. A delicious red blend.
