"Love at First Splash" Pinot Noir 2019

The story:
"Many of you already know the origin of this story and if not, it’s quite something. Jamey had recently moved back to Idaho, while Jon had just returned home from 3 months traveling around Europe. They were both going through big changes in their lives, both focusing on themselves. Both content, neither was looking for anything more - until their paths crossed.

October 17th, 2018 was the day Jon met Jamey. It was Jon’s first day at Splash Wines. Excited and nervous about beginning a new venture, Jon quickly lost focus when he met the company’s cute graphic designer. There was just one thing to note - she also happened to be the owner’s daughter. Every day moving forward, Jon and Jamey would chat and flirt. They immediately hit it off, and soon after, they went on their first date. All it took was the first date. Jon knew Jamey was worth the risk. Everything told him she was the one. Yup, that’s the one."

The Wine:
Western Cape, South Africa
This wine has depth and texture, presence and poise. The whole berry ferment lifts the aromatic expression while bringing supple tannins and length to the wine. Dark, red fruit and a subtle earthiness can be detected. Gentle oaking and non-interventionist winemaking have contributed to producing a pure expression of South African Pinot Noir. This is not a Pinot for those who think good red wine needs to be black, oaky and tannic. It is a fragrant, bright and refreshing Pinot with wonderful succulence and expressive fruitiness.
