Magnifico Nero d'Avola Terre Siciliane

While many in the United States may not have heard of the Italian grape Nero d’Avola, it is one of Italy’s most important native grapes. It is a Sicilian varietal originally from the town of Avola on the southern edge of the island but can now be found throughout Italy.

Oftentimes, the wines made from the grape are compared, favorably, to New World Shirazes – think on interesting twist on the Aussie Shiraz. Magnifico’s take on this crucial red grape has notes of blackberry on the nose. On the dry palate, there is a rounded and full-bodied flavor, with nice warm tannins. A beautiful example of a classic Italian great.
