If you love Tuscan wines, you know that the term “Super Tuscan” describes a Red wine from Tuscany that does not restrain itself to indigenous Italian varieties but embraces international grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, to create uniquely complex, premium single varietal and blended wines.

Poggio Manfredi "SuperTuscan" Toscana is a blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Sangiovese. The best grapes are selected in the vineyard and vinified in stainless steel tanks for 18-20 days. Extended fermentation then occurs in wood barrels for the next 20 months. Afterwards, the aging process is completed with 4 months of bottle refining. The resulting wine has an intense purplish red color with light garnet hues. The nose is complex with a harmoniously spicy bouquet of vanilla and jam. The mouthfeel is voluminous with balsamic notes imparted by using wood barrels in the aging process. The finish is powerful yet refined, persistent and ever so slightly sweet on the close. We recommend pairing this stunning wine with dishes that are garlic or onion forward, particularly braised poultry with chutney sauce or tomato-based dishes like lasagna.
