It is hard to argue that Barolo is one of Italy’s finest wines. Known colloquially as the “Super Tuscans”, these wines epitomize everything that is great about wines from Tuscany. They are big, bold, beautiful and something to absolutely treasure. Made with Nebbiolo, a grape the Italians like to refer to as the King of Grapes, a Barolo has specific qualifications for quality and aging to officially earn the Barolo appellation. There is a reason that these wines are so treasured and the Villa Balestra Barolo is truly one of the finest wines in our collection.

As is to be expected with any Barolo, this wine is big and full-bodied, full of power, with pronounced but balanced tannins. This gem will pair beautifully with any Italian cuisine but it deserves to be pair with some of the finest: rich risottos with lovely mushrooms and truffles or freshly made pasta with hearty Italian sauces.
