What’s in a name? Well, in the case of Alabar, it means quite a lot. That’s because Alabar comes from the Portuguese word for “celebration” and this white is certainly a celebration of great flavor. That makes it a great match for Summer barbecues and picnics. It is a great party wine, especially with the nice warm weather. It is an easy drinking and enjoyable sipper.

Many people think of the sweeter wine port when they think of wine from Portugal, (that’s where port got its name from after all!) but Portugal has a much more varied and vibrant wine culture than just port. Alabar is a great example. Made from many native grapes like Roupeiro and Arinto, most of which are nearly unknown in the United States, this wine is a great representation of Portugal, a signature Portuguese white blend.

The goal when making a wine like Alabar is to make it a crowd-pleaser, one that you will be proud to serve at a party. They succeeded. The blend is easy drinking, with nice fruit and floral nose and a nice structure. With an elegant finish, this wine is a well-balanced wine that you will be certain to love.
