Cambridge and Sunset was initially inspired by the work of neighborhood rejuvenation in California. The work of good Samaritans in the community to revitalize and highlight the local neighborhoods helped Bruce and Kim Cunningham come up with their mission for Cambridge and Sunset. Each wine in the Cambridge and Sunset label showcases the outstanding local characteristics of where the grapes come from.
For this Zinfandel, the Cunninghams scoured the state of California and settled upon, primarily, the region of Lodi. This region has become renowned for its Zin and the conditions in 2012 made for absolutely outstanding wine.
Black cherry and licorice aromas waft from the bottle as soon as you open it and entice as you pour it into a glass. The fruit is bright and fresh on the palate, with notes of baked plum and strawberry mingling into the truly delicious flavor. The wine is smooth, velvety and will always leave you ready for another sip. Zinfandel is a great pairing for robust flavors, maybe a grilled sausage with fennel and roasted tomatoes.
