Macabeo is a white wine grape used in the north and east of Spain and the southernmost reaches of France. Renowned as a versatile grape, it can be used in still, sparkling, dry and sweet wines. When harvested early and aged in stainless barrels, the wines are fresh, floral and aromatic compared to the fuller-bodied, nutty notes that come when aged in oak and harvested slightly later.
Bella Sol Macabeo is harvested early and has refreshing notes of grapefruit and citrus. Light on the palate, it pairs perfectly with summer days, light dishes (like scallops) and mild cheeses.
