Tuesday Night White
It's an old term in the wine business that something can make for a great Tuesday night bottle - not that there is anything wrong or boring about Tuesday nights, but being that it's mid-week and not even "hump day" yet...still hard to see the weekend from there...and maybe there is a good taco special somewhere nearby. The best way to perk it up a bit is by adding a nice wine that makes a simple dinner more enjoyable, and leaves no guilt in terms of how much you spent to do that!
And there is hardly a wine-producing country in the world these days that is better suited to offering up those Tuesday night gems than Chile. With a reliable and outstanding growing season from vintage-to-vintage, wonderful valley soils and plentiful irrigation waters from the nearby Andes, and great night cooling influences, the natural resources in terms of environment and fruit do not disappoint. Add to that a dedication of the Chilean winemakers to improved harvest and production techniques, especially for the last 20 years or so, and wines of delicious fresh fruit character and balance have become the norm.
Tuesday Night White is 100% Sauvignon Blanc the Central Valley's Maule region, perhaps the briskest and crispest white in the Until Next Time portfolio. It is fresh and very dry with flavors of citrus fruits, lemongrass, and some green apple. Quenching and excellent when very chilled, it is a refreshing white with nice acids that pairs best with things like creamy white meat dishes; think of chicken alfredo pasta, or white fish with a lemon basil cream sauce.
